Chef John Murcko Opens Firewood On Park City’s Main Street

Park City, Utah – Utah residents and visitors to Park City will have the pleasure of sampling the culinary creations of Chef John Murcko at his new restaurant Firewood starting this December. Since 1991, Chef Murcko has helped open more than 26 restaurants in Park City and Sun Valley, Idaho that highlight a wide range of styles, flavors and regions of the world.

Firewood will feature American heirloom cuisine with seasonal menu rotations to incorporate the freshest regional produce.  Many dishes will be prepared over open flame using chef-selected wood like cedar, cherry and maple to enhance flavor. Firewood’s custom-made open flame grill boasts five separate cooking stations that guests will be able to see, thanks to an open kitchen design.

Owner and Chef John Murcko said, “Open flame cooking is a passion of mine and I have enjoyed sharing this unique dining style with my family around the holidays for many years. I know Firewood guests will love the rich flavors, nuanced variety in the entrees and the truly multi-sensory culinary experience.  It’s an honor to open a restaurant on Main Street and I look forward to serving my family and friends in the best mountain town in the world.”

Firewood’s decor will showcase turn of the century industrial warehouse finishes, reclaimed bricks and timbers, warehouse windows into the kitchen and a private dining room called the Chef’s Library.  The historic building’s lower level will be home to Firewood’s Nickel Bar and additional event space. Diners can choose to have a cocktail and/or appetizers at the Nickel Bar before or after their reservations. Those looking for a space to hold special events will have a plethora of options within Firewood. “”
